Isaiah 6:5-8
... Then I heard the  voice of the Lord  saying,  'Whom shall I  send? And  who will go  for us?' And I  said,  'Here I am. Send  me!'”

What is worship?

A simple definition of worship is ‘to show devotion to, to love unquestionably, a feeling of profound love and admiration’.  Luke 4:8 encourages us to ‘…worship the Lord your God and serve Him only’.  John 4:23 talks about the ‘true worshipers who will worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks’.  God desires for us to worship Him only.  He wants to be the center of our lives.  He desires for us to worship Him in the most honest way we can and in every expression that we can find (decisions, how we relate with people, and in song!)

Who is the Holy Spirit?

What we determine from Scripture is that He (the Holy Spirit) and His gifts are given to help us in our continuing relationship with God.  John 14:26 describes the Holy Spirit as the Counselor whom God will send in Jesus’ name.  Acts 5:32 describes the Holy Spirit as the one God has given to those who obey Him.  In Acts 13:2, the Holy Spirit speaks.  In Galatians 5:22, He encourages, strengthens, and speaks to us with the goal of maturing us in God daily.

What is baptism?

Baptism is being submersed in water (leaving behind the old you) and rising out of the water (symbolizing your new life in Jesus).  Jesus sets this example in Mark 1:9.  In Matthew 28:19, Jesus commands his disciples to ‘…go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…’.  We believe that baptism is the next necessary step after a person accepts Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.  Because of this, parents can dedicate their infants to God.  This dedication is a public declaration of their promise to raise their children in God’s ways.

Which translation of the Bible do I use?

Although there are many translations of the bible used for different emphasis, we use the New International Version translation of the Bible.  We chose the NIV Bible because of its contemporary and accurate translation.  Click here for more details on the NIV Bible
